    Breeding Facilities


    KBI has well-established animal breeding facilities that were designed and constructed in accordance with AAALAC standards, with the current housing capacity of more than 7000 rhesus and cynomologus monkeys. These facilities include an SPF barrier animal unit, an animal quarantine building and several affiliated facilities including animal hospital, nursery and cage sterilizing facilities. Primates housed in the colony have been successfully bred and the population is expected to be increased.

     


    GLP Study Facilities, R&D Labs


    GLP Study Facilities: The state-of-the-art GLP laboratory is implemented by following China SFDA, US FDA and OECD regulations. The indoor study rooms with the capacity of housing nearly 600 nonhuman primates are designed for concurrent GLP-compliant studies, including Bioanalysis, Toxicology and Pharmacokinetics studies.

    Research Facility: The 7000 square meters facility of international standard is dedicated to carry out Neurobiology, Pathology, Genetics and Stem Cell research.

     

     


    Breeding and Veterinary Care Team


    --  Well trained animal staff performing timely humane care of monkeys.
    --  Experienced veterinary experts providing routine health examination, disease diagnosis/treatment, pathology test and surgical service.
    --  Experts on animal psychological well-being responsible for animal pairing, behavior assessment and environmental enrichment.

     
    Auxiliary Facilities: 


    --  The hygienic cafeteria is well-furnished and well-equipped with capacity for 300 people dining at the same time.
    --  The 4-star-hotel equivalent guest house provides 32 rooms for on-site visitors.
    --  The multifunctional conference center is an ideal place to accommodate different levels of conferences and seminars.
