  • Overview

Kunming Biomed International (KBI), located in southwest China, is the home of the largest colony of non-human primates in the world with the capability of farming 10,000 monkeys. Added to a combination of fifty years experience of breeding and handling primates, KBI becomes a world-leading contract research organization (CRO) providing preclinical research services to international pharmaceutical and biotechnological companies. With the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Engineering Research Center (NERC) of Biomedicine and Animal Science was established and built up on the base of KBI in October 2009.

Our experienced research and management team offers cost effective research of the highest quality while applying the highest standards of animal welfare and animal ethics. KBI incorporates all standards necessary to achieve AAALAC accreditation and GLP compliance. KBI has a partner research institute - the Kunming Primate Research Center (KPRC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Kunming, located in Yunnan Province, is known as "The City of Eternal Spring" and has a year-round temperate climate. Yunnan is known as "The Kingdom of Wildlife" and is home to over 300 mammalian species (including 15 species of nonhuman primates) which makes it a great gene bank of animals, a great benefit in scientific research. Kunming is currently the transportation hub for Southeast Asia and its importance will grow with the scheduled opening of China's 4th largest international airport.

KBI should be your choice if you want high quality research in an economical realm.
