    KBI AAALAC Training Program Successfully Completed

      

    During June 1st to June 3rd,at the conference center of the campus, AAALAC International Accreditation training program organized by Kunming Biomed International came to a successful conclusion.


    Dr. Montip Gettayacamin, the Regional Director for Southeast Asia, Pacific Rim Activities of Association for Assessment and Accreditation for Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International, at the invitation of KBI, gave presentations on AAALAC International Accreditation. The three day-long training lays out fundamental concepts of laboratory animal medicine essential to developing high-quality laboratory animal programs and the rationale for advocating good animal welfare in support of good science. Topics included the elements of a well planned, properly maintained facility and animal care program. Ms. Lihong LI from KBI introduced laws and regulations in the care and use of laboratory animals as the first of a series of lectures.

    Since February 2009, Dr. Montip Gettayacamin is the principal spokesperson for AAALAC International in Southeast Asia. She liaises with accredited institutions in the Southeast Asia region and serves as a resource for those that are currently accredited as well as those that are seeking accreditation.
