    International Symposium on Primate Research

Sponsored by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Morningside Group, the 3rd CAS-Morningside Symposium on Primate Research was held from September 15-18, 2008 in Kunming, Yunnan, China, and Kunming Biomed International (KBI) was invited as the co-organizer of the conference, together with Kunming Primate Research Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, to host this exciting event.

Under the theme of "from cage to clinic: NHP models of human diseases", the Symposium of this year brought together a diverse group of scientists from industry and academia across the world, working in the field of bio-medical research, primate biology, animal models, animal welfare and regenerative medicine, to exchange ideas, facilitate collaborative work and transfer new approaches and techniques across fields.

The symposium has achieved great success and high appraisals from the attendees. The correspondent, David Cyranoski from Nature magazine joined in the conference for its series report of CAS-Morningside primate research symposium since 2004. With around 40 scholars delivering talk at the conference, this year's symposium consisted of 4 sessions, including:

non-human primate models & human medicine,
    animal welfare & diagnostics,
    stem cell & regenerative medicine,
    immunology and cancer biology.

During the session, the conference participants were invited to Kunming Biomed International (KBI) for a facility tour, and KBI has earned accolades and wide recognition for its first-class design of the animal facility and laboratories.
